Circus Mirandus has had a fantastic couple of months, and I am very tardy as far as sharing news on this blog goes. So here are a few of the wonderful things that have been happening lately:
The Audiobook
The narrator for the Circus Mirandus audiobook is Bronson Pinchot, who is incredibly cool! And I love it, love it, love it. You can hear an excerpt of his to-die-for narration here.
The Stars
The reviews from School Library Journal and Kirkus are in, and they are both *STARRED*! Not only that, but they are really beautiful, insightful reviews. The Kirkus review can be read online here.
Real Books!
Yesterday, I came home from a trip to the grocery store to find the first finished copies of Circus Mirandus in the mail. These are the UK editions from Chicken House, and they are gorgeous! So gorgeous that I didn’t bother to stick the cold things in the fridge before I ran outside for a photo shoot.
There is so much more I’d like to share, but some of it still top-secret. So this will have to do for now! The circus opens on June 2, and that’s just weeks away. I can’t believe how quickly things are moving as release day approaches. I’m so happy and excited these days that I don’t even know what to do with myself.
Good luck to you Cassie, I’m getting the kindle version. I haven’t read a word of it but the Title rocks and I couldn’t go past it on the Goodreads new releases.
Thanks, Michael! I hope you enjoy the read. 🙂
Hi Cassie,
I just finished reading an arc of Circus Mirandus. I loved the story! It’s hard to believe that it is your first book. Your writing is lovely, the characters are so nicely depicted, the plot is charming, imaginative and so original. I work as a children’s librarian at a public library and I am so looking forward to sharing your book with my young readers. I was not surprised to see that the book has been optioned for a movie. As I was reading I thought to myself that it would be wonderful to see it transformed to a film. Congratulations on a wonderful book!
Betsy the librarian
Thank you so much, Betsy!
Hi Cassie!
I read a review of the book in the Boston Globe a few months ago. I immediately requested it from our local library here in Brookline, MA. I JUST got it two days ago!! That’s how many holds there were!! Anyway I loved it, very charming story. Well done!! Is there a sequel in the works??
Ohhhhh, those ARE pretty! Hooray, hooray!
Thank you, Erin! 🙂
Such a fun read! When is the sequel coming out? 🙂
Dear Cassie Beasley,
Thank you for replying! It was such a great surprise! I am still working on your biography, I would love to get more information about yourself.
Some of the things I am wondering are:
1) What was it like growing up?
2) What is your favorite thing as a writer?
3) What is your favorite thing to do during your spare time?
4) Do you ever visit schools in Texas?
Thank you,
Isabel Rodrrigiez
Hi, Isabel!
Thank you for your questions. I’ve sent you an e-mail. 🙂
Cassie
HI,
I was wondering where in “rural” Georgia to live? Not to invade for privacy, just curious, I live near Athens, Georgia and grew up in Dahlonega, GA. Again, no worries if you want to just keep it rural. I love your book and look forward to anything else you do. Thanks, Virginia
Hi Virginia! I live closer to Savannah. 🙂
hi, should have been where “you” live and Not to invade “your” privacy, sorry for all those typos!
Hi Cassie, I am reading your amazing book Tumble and Blue for my book report and part of my report is a brief biography of the author. I was wonderening if you could share more information about yourself after looking at the website. I understand if you cannot respond quickly as it is the weekend, but I would love to know more. Thank you!
